What if the problem isn’t your gift but the container?

Good Morning Reader

Last week, I was speaking with a close friend, someone I trust to keep it real. We were talking about how easy it is to question your gift when the results don’t show up the way you expected.

You’ve been pouring your heart into the work.

You’re good at what you do.

You’re consistent, committed, and still, the outcome feels silent.

So naturally, you start to wonder:

Is this a sign it’s time to let go?

Is my gift no longer relevant?

Have I reached my limit?

I’ve been there.

There was a season in MindsetShift where every conversation felt like a dead end. Leads went cold. Rejections stacked up. Momentum stalled. It was disheartening. And I remember thinking, maybe this is a sign that I’ve done all I can.

But it wasn’t. The truth was, the work we were doing was impactful. Our clients were growing. The feedback was powerful. The craft wasn’t the problem.

It was the container.

The way we were selling, the strategy, and the system needed a complete overhaul. I had to unlearn what I thought I knew and build something new. Because your gift can be brilliant, but if the delivery system is broken, it won't reach its intended destination.

You see it in marriages, where the love is still present, but the communication system is broken.

You see it in business, where the passion is alive, but the marketing strategy is outdated.

You see it in leadership, where the vision is sharp, but the structure around it can’t support the next level.

It’s not always the gift that’s flawed. Sometimes it’s the system carrying it.

And now I want to ask you:

What part of your life feels silent right now, even though you know you’re showing up with your full self?

Is it the work that’s broken, or the way you’re approaching it?

If the gift is intact, what container needs reimagining?

Bonus prompt to do with a friend or colleague:

Ask each other, What are the top three things you do well that you rarely speak about?

Watch what surfaces when you give voice to what’s usually kept in the dark.

You’re not lost.

You’re just being invited to evolve.

Keep going.

Keep building.

Just make sure you’re not judging the value of your gift based on the volume of applause.

Sometimes the most powerful shifts happen in silence.
